Summer is fast approaching and what better way to kick start your summer than by planning a trip to the beautiful Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. This place isn't overrun by tourists yet, but it's getting there. So head on out - now. Pagudpud's beaches are beyond amazing: long stretches of white sand and crystal clear blue water will surely leave you in awe. Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte is located at the northernmost tip of the Luzon Island.

When my parents surprised us with a 3-day trip to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte on Christmas break, I just could not contain my excitement. It will be my first time going to a place so far from home and I was looking forward to it. We went there using our car and it took at least 10 to 12 hours from Manila to Ilocos Norte.

The place was marvelous. We first went to the Cape Bejeador Lighthouse in Burgos, it's a 19th century octagonal structure finished with baked brick. It still works today and also houses a small museum. We also went to the infamous Bangui Windmills. Their purpose is to provide electricity to the entire province of Ilocos Norte. Although, the stark white, 70-meter windmills jutting out of the beach also offers a stunning view and is totally Instagram worthy!

If you're looking for a more historic place to visit, you should definitely visit Malacanang of the North. This mansion used to be the house of ex-president Ferdinand Marcos in Ilocos. You'll even see a fantastic view of the Paoay Lake in the veranda at the back.

Now don't forget about the streets of Vigan! I have seen a lot of beautiful pictures of Vigan on the internet and being present there felt like a dream. The kalesas, cobblestone streets and European architecture of houses bring a strong feeling of history. Its like you're in the olden times.

We also went to Pagudpud beach and explored the many beautiful waterfalls in Ilocos Norte. This place was truly memorable. Im blessed to have explored and visited such a wonderful place.
